Micky DeFries

Micky Ray DeFries was born on October 22, 1958 in Wahpeton, North Dakota.  His parents are Earllet Pearl (Lueck) Johnson and the late Dick DeFries.  Mick grew up in Breckinridge and attended the Breckenridge High School where he was a competitive and successful athlete.

Mick enjoyed spending time at the cabin on Eagle Lake, where he enjoyed fishing and waterskiing. He loved spending time in the last two years with his daughter and grandsons, Mason and his “best buddy”, Jadyn. Mick made many friends and was a tremendous impact on their lives.

On June 22, 2019, Mick passed away peacefully at his home in Battle Lake, at 60 years of age.  He will be dearly missed by his family and friends.  Preceding Mick in death was his father, Dick DeFries.

Mick is survived by his children: Claudean, Joshua, Ashley and Jacob; his grandchildren, nieces & nephews; mother, Earllet (Al) Johnson; brother Rick (Carolyn) DeFries; stepbrothers: Brian (Missy) Johnson and Mike (Lisa) Johnson; many other relatives and a host of friends.
