Marvin Richard Osborn was born to Llewellyn and Lettie (Ross) Osborn on April 3, 1931 in Wadena, Minnesota. He grew up and attended Verndale Public Schools. Marvin honorable serviced in the United States Army from 1952-1954 in the Korean War. On March 17, 1955, Marvin married June Derby in Wadena Methodist Church and during their marriage they were blessed with three children.
In Marvin’s earlier years he worked at Wadena Silo Company and potato farms in Grafton, North Dakota. He was a bus driver for Verndale Public School (Bus #4) for 30 years. Marvin also farmed in rural Verndale, raising dairy, beef cattle, feeder pigs, and cash crops of corn and hay. He loved being in the woods, cutting firewood, making willow furniture, watching the deer, and feeding the birds. Marvin enjoyed helping his neighbors with their work whenever he could.
Marvin entered eternal rest on Monday, August 5, 2019 at Fair Oaks Lodge in Wadena, Minnesota, surrounded by his family. He will be dearly missed by all his friends and family. Marvin is preceded in death by his parents; son, Michael and daughter-in-law, Linda; brothers: Lloyd, Harvey, Clyde, Donald and Lyle.
He will forever be remembered by his wife June Osborn of Verndale; son, Daniel (Carol) Osborn of Verndale; daughter, Jodie Schmidt of Henning; numerous other relatives and many friends.
