Linda Brand

Linda Carol (Grussing) Brand was born in Trimont, MN on March 5, 1956 to James and Loraine Grussing. She graduated from Trimont High School in May 1974 then graduated from Mankato Commercial College in March 1975. That April, she was employed by Fairmont Railway Motors as the secretary to the Personal Manager in Fairmont, MN.  She worked there until September 1977.

On October 1, 1977 she married Christian Brand at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Trimont, MN. In December 1977, she was employed as a secretary at Professional Hearing Aid Service. They lived in Fairmont where she loved to decorate cakes for her niece’s and nephew’s birthdays in her spare time. Later she got interested in flower gardening.  From the many types of flowers she grew, Linda displayed a natural talent in making flower arrangements. From February 1993 to July 2008 she was employed at the Fairmont Hearing Aid Service.

In 2008, Linda and Chris took an early retirement and moved to rural Deer Creek, MN to build their dream home. They joined Immanuel Lutheran Church where Linda enjoyed providing many unique, creative and fun baked goods for bake sales. From family, friends, church friends to the nurses at the Coborn Cancer Center and the employees of the Knute Nelson Hospice, everyone loved Linda’s sweet, gentle spirit and her wonderful smile.

Linda entered eternal rest on Sunday, July 22, 2018 with her loving family by her side. She is preceded in death by her parents James and Loraine Grussing, and sister Ann Jensen.

Linda is survived by her husband Chris of Deer Creek; sister Kay Cutler of Franklin, MN; brother Paul Grussing and wife Carolyn of Fairmont, MN; 7 nieces and nephews; 11 great nieces and nephews; many other relatives and a host of friends.
