Kenneth Loser

Kenneth Arthur Loser was born on June 26, 1929 at home in Inman Township, rural Henning, Minnesota.  His parents were the late August and Belle (Halvorson) Loser.  Ken was Baptized and Confirmed at the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Henning.  He attended Country School at the Dilly School in Inman Township and then went to work in the potato fields in the Dakotas.  When Ken was 16 he went to work for Lucky in Sebeka operating heavy equipment.

Ken served in the United States Army from March 7, 1951 to February 21, 1953.  On January 19, 1952 Kenneth was married to Adeline “Addy” Ida Elma Heinecke while Ken was in the U.S Army.  Ken and Addy were married for 37 years as they were blessed with 3 children: Cindy, Gary and Duane.

Ken was employed in California for a short time where he worked heavy equipment.  Returning to Henning where he enjoyed farming on the side, In 1954, Ken joined the 49er’s in Minneapolis where he worked city & water construction through out the five state area. Retiring from the 49er’s Ken owned and operated Ken’s Excavating in Henning where he enjoyed working with his sons and eventually passed along the business to his grandson, Chad.  He loved polka dancing, auctions and deer hunting.

On July 17, 2018 Ken passed away at St. Cloud Hospital at 89 years of age.  He will be dearly missed by his family and friends.  Preceding Ken in death were his parents; grandson, Travis Loser and sisters: Margaret Olson and Lorraine Olson.

Ken is survived by his daughter, Cindy (Dave) Shaw; 2 sons: Gary (Roxann) Loser and Duane “Dewey” Loser;  7 grandchildren: Sherry, Chad, Jake, Tanya, Trisha, Becky and Ronald;  9 great-grandchildren: Taylor, Tanner, Andrew, Avery, Tristan, Ashlyn, Rider, Addie and Brodie;  sister, LaVella (Dale) Burger; many other relatives and a host of friends.
