Josephine Annie Zinsli was born on April 30, 1927 in Sentinel Butte, North Dakota. Her parents were the late Anton Richard and Catherine Mary (Jerry) Zinsli.
On October 16, 1950 Josephine was united in marriage with Albert Anton Rising in Sentinel Butte, North Dakota. They resided in Golva, North Dakota where they farmed from 1950 to 1963. In 1963 they made their home in Becker, Minnesota until moving back to Golva where Josephine was employed at the Golva School.
In 1990 they moved to Beach, North Dakota where she lived until Albert’s death in 1999. At that time, Josephine made her home in Menahga, Minnesota. Josephine loved to knit, crochet and fish.
Josephine passed away on August 2, 2019 at Green Pine Acres in Menahga, Minnesota at 92 years of age. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends. Preceding her in death were her parents, Anton and Catherine; husband, Albert; son, George; 3 brothers; and 7 brothers and sisters-in-law.
Josephine is survived by her children: Sharon (Paul) Kloetzke of Monticello; Teresa (Patrick) Shepherd of South Haven; Linda (Douglas) Burkholder of Menahga; Michael (Vonda) Rising of Monticello; 19 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; 8 great-great-grandchildren; 3 sisters: Rose Schreiber, Mary Cook and Iren Job; sisters-in-law: Marilyn Carlson, Linda Rising and Helon Zinsli; many nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and a host of friends.
