Jackie Delvin Leitch was born July 12, 1942 in Minneapolis, MN to the late Rudy and Edrie Blom, and was later adopted by the late Edgar and Effie (Jacobson) Leitch. He attended New York Mills Schools, graduating with the Class of 1960. Jack furthered his education at the Minnesota School of Business in Minneapolis, obtaining his Associates Degree in sales and advertising. After graduating Jack was employed with 3M in Minneapolis. He started in the mailroom, then moved up to chainsaw sales.
On February 9, 1963, Jack was united in marriage to Judie Wirth, they resided in Minneapolis. In 1963 they moved to Detroit Lakes, then to the Ottertail Lake area in 1984, where they resided until 2017. He worked as a traveling salesman for 23 years, retiring in 2004. After retirement Jack loved working various jobs. In 2017 Jack and Judie moved to Audubon.
Jack enjoyed fishing, visiting, having coffee with family and friends, deer hunting, reading westerns and listening to polka music on Saturday nights. Jack loved his children and grandchildren.
Jack passed away on December 26, 2019 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Detroit Lakes, Minnesota. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends. Preceding Jack in death were his parents; sister, Donna; brother, Delbert; daughter, Danelle Leitch and grandson, Wade Stich.
Left to cherish his memories are his wife, Judie Leitch of Audubon; children: Danita (Steven) London of Dilworth; Dana (Mike Williams) Leitch of Detroit Lakes; Dale (Amy Nicely) Leitch of Fargo; Danette (Brandon Smuda) Leitch-Peltier of Fargo; grandchildren: Tarah London, Abbey Peltier, Avery Peltier, Josie Leitch, Jena Leitch, Andre Burns; step-grandchild, Brieanah Sahagian; great-grandchildren: Eve, Nevaeh and Riley; many other relatives and a host of friends.
