Gloriann Waln

Gloriann Helen Wegscheid was born on March 20, 1944 at Wesley Hospital in Wadena, Minnesota.  Her parents were the late Joseph and Margaret (Peters) Wegscheid.  Gloriann grew up on the family farm west of Bluffton where she attended Country School.  She graduated from Wadena High School with the class of 1962. 

On July 9, 1962 Gloriann was united in marriage with Myron “Butch” Waln at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Bluffton, Minnesota.  Through 56 years their marriage was blessed with 5 children.  Gloriann was employed at Gibson’s and was a Bookkeeper for their Trucking Business for 46 years.

Gloriann loved a good cup of coffee, visiting with family & friends, all were always welcome for coffee, and conversation with "Ma".  You could often find her chit chatting on the phone and watching game shows: Let’s Make A Deal and the Price is Right.  She loved travelling up north to Shell City Campground for family picnics and trying her luck with scratch offs.  Gloriann enjoyed making homemade soups and filling up the frying pan with crappie fillets.

Gloriann passed away at her home in Wadena at 74 years old.  She will be dearly missed by her family and friends. Preceding her in death were her parents, Joseph and Margaret; son Kevin Waln; granddaughter Thyler Waln, daughter-in-law Jen Waln; sisters: Lorraine (Wilbert) Tellers, Loretta Theisen; brothers: Norman, Johnny, Wilbur, Gibb, and Elmer.

She will forever be remembered by her husband, Butch; daughters: Brenda (Tom) Hahn; Roberta “Bobbi” (Dan) Richards; sons: Keith (Tammy) Waln; John Waln; grandchildren: Travis, Danielle, Joe, Brandon, Justin, Cody, Chris and Dylan; great-grandchildren: Paige, Payton, Aynsley, Hunter, Grayson, Amelia and Adeline; sister Jeanie Brever;  brother-in-law Arnold Theisen; sisters-in-law: Joyce Wegscheid, Diana Wegscheid, Mary Lou Wegscheid; many other relatives and a host of friends.
