With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Gerald "Jerry" Mohs, who passed away on December 30, 2018 at the age of 78.
Jerry was born to Art and Delores Mohs on May 3, 1941. He grew up in New York Mills from 1950 to the time he graduated from New York Mills High School in 1959. Jerry entered the United States Army after graduation. Upon returning from the army, he made his home in Minneapolis area. He owned his own construction business until he moved to Walker, Minnesota in 2003 and built his home (literally in a gravel pit).
Jerry was united in marriage to Mary Sautbine on September 28th, 2001. He loved his hunting and fishing. There were many a time he was deer hunting on the old farm place with some of his brothers and friends. He loved spending time with the grandchildren.
Jerry is survived by his wife Mary (Sautbine) Mohs of 17 years. He had two step-daughters: Brenda Sautbine of Walker, MN; and Tammy Crapser of Elk River, MN. He had five grandchildren (who called him grandpa); and four great grandchildren; numerous brothers, sisters, brother-in-laws; sisters-in-laws, nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life is scheduled for April 27th, 2019 at Lake May Center, 508 8th Street, Walker, MN from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. (Center is located on State Hwy 34 next to ambulance garage).
