Gary "Ya Ya" Maas

Gary Charles Maas was born to Lloyd and Viola (Otto) Maas on August 29, 1952 in Watertown, Minnesota. After high school graduation, Gary honorably served in the United States Marines from 1970 to 1971. He enjoyed buying and selling cattle when he resided in southern Minnesota, before moving to Hewitt, MN. Gary was also employed as an over-the-road semi driver. He has resided in Hewitt, MN for the last 20 years.

Gary loved fishing, deer hunting, carpentry, and gardening.  Among the many things he enjoyed were working/training his horses, either horse & buggy or skidding logs with his horses. Gary passed away Saturday, March 23, 2019 at St. Cloud VA Hospital, St. Cloud, Minnesota.

Survived by his 13 year companion, Susan Reger of Wadena; daughter Tammy (Eric) Clausen of Annandale; son Michael (Kori) Maas of Paynesville; 3 grandchildren; 3 sisters: Kathy (Leon) Krone of Lester Prairie, Susan (Neil) DeMaras of Winsted; Cecila (Randy) Kottke of Princeton; 2 brothers: Tom of Maple Lake and Kevin of Princeton; many other relatives and friends.

Gary is preceded in death by his parents and his brother Mike.
