Garrett Wayne Nelson of Kulm, ND was born July 1st, 1999 in Fergus Falls, MN. Garrett passed away January 8th, 2020 in Wishek, ND.
Garrett was baptized in Gackle, ND at O.A.L.C. He attended Kulm Public School. Garrett is survived by his mother, Amy (Travis) Berg; father, Wayne Nelson; his two brothers: Josh Foley and Wyatt Nelson; along with his grandparents: Jerry and Kathy Nelson and Gary and Arlette Toepper; many aunts, uncles, and cousins. Garrett was proceeded in death by his uncle William Toepper.
Garrett had a great love for the outdoors. If he wasn’t out hunting, he was fishing. You could find Garrett at the lake with a pole in the water most days, rain or shine, snow or ice. It didn’t keep him away from the fish. Among Garrett’s past times, he loved working on his truck and any other toy with a motor, the louder the better. At an early age he was an entrepreneur. Garret would turn other’s junk into treasures.
Garrett was an encyclopedia of knowledge when it came to cattle. He often dreamt of owning his own cattle ranch one day. He looked forward to calving season every year, to help bring new life into the world.
Garrett had many friends. His two brothers were his closest buddies through thick and thin. They were always together. He had a quiet and loving disposition. If you asked him a question, his response was a shy smile with an almost inaudible response, but once he opened up, he could be heard across a room, actually, he was only heard when he was bantering with his brothers.
Garrett will be forever and deeply missed by all those who knew him.
