Esther Elizabeth Koljonen was born on August 31, 1933 in Newton Township, New York Mills, Minnesota to Philip and Sonia (Pesola) Koljonen. Esther attended New York Mills High School, graduating with the class of 1951. She moved to California for a short time.
On February 9, 1954 Esther was united in marriage to Thomas Beaman at the Evangelical United Brethren Parsonage in Deer Creek, Minnesota. Together they made their home in Inman Township, Henning, Minnesota where they farmed. Their marriage was blessed with three children: Bruce, Kelly and Wayne.
For twenty-two years, Esther was employed at the Henning Nursing Home as a Nurses Aid. On November 4, 1994, Thomas passed away. Esther made her home in New York Mills in 2002. She enjoyed sewing, puzzles, playing cards, cooking, gardening, bird watching and spending time with her grandchildren.
On July 28, 2019, Esther passed away at Sanford Medical Center in Fargo, North Dakota. She is preceded in death by her parents: Philip A. and Sonia (Pesola) Koljonen; brothers: Andrew Koljonen, Philp Sr. Koljonen and Rueben (Imogene) Koljonen; and sisters: Sonja Moore, Bernice Kupfer, Delores Schneider, Sara Conway, Drucilla (Lawrence) Reisenauer; Celia Gebert and Susan Hogue
Surviving Esther are her children: Bruce (Suzanna) Beaman; Kelly (Barbara) Beaman; and Wayne (Louise) Beaman ; 7 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Sanna Koljonen; brothers-in-law: Leslie Gebert and Milton Beaman; many other relatives and a host of friends.
