Edward Wynn Jay was born June 26, 1965 to Edwin and Elizabeth (Dickman) Jay in Wadena, Minnesota. He grew up and attended elementary school in Motley and junior high in Moses Lake, Washington. After receiving his GED, Ed furthered his education at Wadena Tech for Cable Technology. He moved to Red Wing, Minnesota where he was employed with Arvig.
Ed was married to Mary Marie Irwin in Red Wing, MN and they were blessed with two children. Together they lived in Red Wing, MN and in 1995 they moved to New York Mills where Ed owned and operated his own roofing company for many years.
Ed enjoyed woodworking, building different projects and he especially loved to make people laugh. Ed passed away on Wednesday, August 29, 2018 at his home in New York Mills. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends.
Survived by his wife Mary Jay of New York Mills; daughter Charly Jay (Sean Dunblazier) of Ottertail; son Henry Jay (Brandie Standal) of Park Rapids; sisters: Becky (Gary) Nolan of Sebeka; Barb (Mike) James of Browerville; Wendi (Guy) Payne of Lake Kiowa, TX: nephews: Tommy Jay (Tanisha Splane) of Battle Lake; Scotty (Danika) Jay of Detroit Lakes; numerous other relatives and many friends.
Preceded in death by her parents and his brothers: Tommy Thompson, Kenny Jay, Bill Jay and Tim Jay.
