Douglas Charles Lutgens was born on April 10, 1951 in Waseca, Minnesota to Albert and Wilma (Evans) Lutgens. He attended Waseca High School, graduating with the class of 1970.
On July 15, 1978 Douglas was united in marriage to Kim Mullenbach at St. Augustine’s Church in Austin, Minnesota. Their marriage was blessed with two children: Shelly and Darrin. Doug was employed at Brown Printing in Waseca. In 1999, Douglas and his family made their home in Baxter, Minnesota where Doug was employed at Bang Printing. Doug retired in 2013. Douglas enjoyed duck and pheasant hunting, fishing and gardening, especially his potatoes.
At the age of 68, Doug entered eternal rest on Wednesday, August 7, 2019 at his home in Baxter, surrounded by his loving family and the care of Heartland Hospice. Preceding him in death were his parents: Albert and Wilma; and his granddaughter: Shyanne.
Doug is survived by his wife: Kim; children: Shelly (Chris) Jacobs and Darrin (Meghan) Lutgens; grandchildren: Khloe; Alissa; Cody; Caleb; Gendtry; Kennedy; and Delaney; sisters: Debbie (Bob) Grant; and Donna Hansen; brothers: Larry (Ili) Lutgens; and Jack Lutgens; many other relatives and a host of friends.
