Diane Theresa Suchy was born on January 23, 1944 in Parkers Prairie, Minnesota. Her parents were the late Leo and Helen (Klimek) Suchy. Diane grew up near Block Lake where she attended country school. She graduated from the Parkers Prairie High School with the class of 1962. After high school Diane was employed at Fingerhut in Alexandria and the Parkers Bakery in Parkers Prairie.
On July 12th, 1969 Diane was united in marriage to Jerry Starry at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Urbank. Their marriage was blessed with 3 children. Together Diane and Jerry made their home for a short time in Belgrade, then rural Urbank and in 1978, Parkers Prairie, where they enjoyed hobby farming and raising pigs with their family. Diane was employed for 30 years as a CNA at St. Williams Living Center in Parkers Prairie and then at Willow Creek in Henning for 5 years, retiring in 2014. Jerry passed away on March 4, 2004.
Diane enjoyed playing bingo, going to garage sales, crocheting, and gardening. She loved to cook and entertain for family and friends and visit her parents at their house by Block Lake. After Diane retired, she loved to take care of her 2 dogs, Chagen and Gizmo.
On May 15, 2019 Diane passed away at Sanford Health in Fargo, North Dakota at 75 years of age. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends. Preceding Diane in death were her parents, Leo & Helen Suchy; husband, Jerry Starry; brother, Tommy Suchy.
Diane is survived by her 3 children: Shannon (Debbie) Starry, Henning; Scott (Mary) Starry, Osage; and Tara (Joe Woitalla) Starry, Albany; 3 grandchildren: Tyler (Bradie) Starry, Henning; Nathan Starry, Fargo; and Madison Starry, Osage; 2 great-grandchildren: Paisley and Brielle Starry, Henning; 3 sisters: Virginia Bergman, Inver Grove Heights, Lois Kittelson, Eagan; and Kathleen (Bob) Howard, Becker; 4 brothers: Larry (Pat) Suchy, Champlin; Wilbert (Francis) Suchy, Urbank; Duane (Kathy) Suchy, Urbank; and Allen (Sheryl) Suchy, Urbank; 2 brothers-in law: Dan (Hazel) Starry, Sauk Rapids; and Kevin (Margaret) Starry, Sartell; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, many relatives and a host of friends.
