Dean Kopp

Dean Thomas Kopp was born on April 30, 1961 to the late Wayne and Gloria (Trana) Kopp in Wadena, Minnesota. Dean attended Verndale High School, graduating with the class of 1979. After high school, he attended the Wadena Technical School and earned a degree in electronics and cables.

On September 12, 1987, Dean was united in marriage to Sally Mae VanRoekel at the United Methodist Church in Verndale, Minnesota. Together they made their home in Verndale, as their marriage was blessed with two children, Wayne and Mitch.

Dean cut meat for grocery stores in Verndale and Staples for thirty years. For the past six years he was employed at Trident in Motley, Minnesota. Dean was a member of the United Methodist Church in Verndale. He was also a member of the Verndale Fire Department for five years.

Dean liked to fish and spend time outdoors. The first year he got his new boat, he fished on 52 different lakes. But his greatest love was his children and grandchildren. He enjoyed spending time with them all.

On June 3, 2019, Dean passed away peacefully in his home. He will be dearly missed by his friends and family. Preceding Dean in death are his parents; brother: Don Kopp; and sister: Linda Kopp.

Dean is survived by his loving wife Sally; sons: Wayne (Ashley) Kopp; and Mitch (Kylie) Kopp; three grandchildren: Matthew; Ebony; and Alexia; many other relatives and a host of friends.
