Calvin Howard Janke was born on December 25, 1947 in Perham, Minnesota. His parents were the late Howard and Anna (Ecklund) Janke. He was baptized in Evergreen, Minnesota. He attended Frazee High School and graduated with the Class of 1965. Calvin was united in marriage to Faye Frank on September 1, 1967 in Hopkins, MN. Their marriage was blessed with two children: Corrie and Heidi. He served in the United States Army from February 1968 to October 1969. They resided in Minnetonka for 36 years, before moving to Battle Lake in 2007. Cal was a Drywall Contractor for 50 years.
He enjoyed fishing, golf cart rides through the neighborhood, spending time with his granddaughters and family. He liked going to auctions, but rarely bought anything.
On June 20, 2019 Cal passed away at his home in Battle Lake at 71 years of age. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends. Preceding Cal in death were his parents: Howard and Anna Janke; brother: Warren Janke; sister: Joan Ehlers; father and mother in-law: Albert and Mathilda Frank; brothers in-law: Ronald Frank and Ralph Palmer.
Calvin is survived by his loving wife: Faye; daughters: Corrie Janke; and Heidi Brown; grandchildren: Jadyn Brown; and Taylor Brown; siblings: Roslyn (Dale) Lubitz; Diane Arthurs; Randall (Violet) Janke; Howard (Joan) Janke; Keith (Betty) Janke; Jeff (Chris) Janke; and Arden (Emily) Janke; many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews; other relatives and a host of friends.
