Arnold Salo

Arnold W. Salo was born September 25, 1934 in Deer Creek Township, Minnesota to Reino and Hilma (Jaaska) Salo. He grew up and attended school in New York Mills, MN; graduating with the Class of 1953.

After graduation, Arnold sailed on the Great Lakes for two seasons before joined the United States Army, serving in Fairbanks, Alaska. He then sailed one more season on the Great Lakes before returning to Deer Creek Township, where he farmed for over 35 years.

Arnold enjoyed farming and was very creative by recrafting old machinery and wood carving.

On Thursday, December 27, 2018, Arnold entered eternal rest at Green Pine Acres Nursing Home in Menahga, MN. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him. Preceded in death by his parents, Reino and Hilma; and brother Erwin.

Lovingly remembered by his sister, Elaine (Bob) Olijnek of Ramsey; niece and nephews: Andrea (Tom) Scheuzger of Hudson, WI; Lance (Carolyn) Olijnek of Lakeville; Paul (Joannie) Salo of Fargo, ND; Dan (Kim) Salo of Eden Valley; David (Laurie) Salo of Litchfield; numerous other relatives and many friends.
