Eino Edwin Werronen was born on January 27, 1931 in Finlayson, Minnesota. His parents were the late Johan August and Helmi Elizabeth (Kero) Werronen. On October 2, 1954 Eino was united in marriage with Bernice Lydia Tumberg in Leaf Lake Township, Ottertail County, Minnesota. Eino and Bernice made their home in Finlayson where they farmed until moving to Minneapolis in 1962. Eino was employed with Land O’ Lakes for a short time and then as the janitorial engineer for Minneapolis Public Schools. In 1991, they moved to Coon Rapids, Minnesota. Bernice passed away on May 23, 1994. In 1995, Eino retired and moved to Buchanan Lake, rural Ottertail, Minnesota. On March 23, 1996 Eino was united in marriage with Caroline Helen (Siivikko) Johnson in Clatskanie, Oregon. They made their home on Buchanan Lake. Eino enjoyed hunting deer, turkey and bear with his rifle or crossbow. He loved spending time telling stories and joking with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He also enjoyed Bible Study and was a member of the Apostolic Lutheran Church. Eino’s other hobbies included fishing, woodworking, tinkering, roses and gardening. On October 20, 2010 Eino passed away at home, peacefully surrounded by his family, under the care of Lakeland Hospice at 79 years of age. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends. Preceding Eino in death were his parents, August and Helmi Werronen; wife, Bernice Werronen; daughter, Wendy (Johnson) Aho; great-granddaughter, Brandi Frakie; brothers: Wilbert Johnson, Edward Werronen; sisters: Edith Sherrock, Ailie Palkowski, Mae Nycklemoe, Elaine Korvela.
Eino is survived by his wife, Caroline Werronen of Ottertail; daughters: Susan Wallace of Apple Valley; Julie (Roy) Frakie of New York Mills; Shirley (Dave) Giroux of Sacramento,CA; Charlotte (Toby) White of Blaine; Holly Johnson of Rainier, OR; Sons: Willard (Beth) Johnson of Clatskanie, OR; Andrew (Louise) Johnson of Rainier, OR; Jonathan (Alice) Johnson of Battle Ground, WA; 15 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; brother, Loyde (Selma) Johnson of Finlayson; sisters: Elna Tumberg of New York Mills & Olga Torkelson of Moose Lake.
